Fleet & Equipment Mechanic

Inspects, maintains, and repairs company vehicles and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safety and operability for landscaping crews.

Core duties

  • Inspections & diagnostics: Identify faults using visual checks and diagnostic tools.

  • Repairs & maintenance: Perform routine service and complex repairs on gasoline, diesel, and electric equipment (engines, transmissions, hydraulics; brakes, cooling, electrical systems; replace filters, belts, spark plugs).

  • Equipment serviced: Small engines (mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws), heavy machinery (tractors, skid-steers, excavators, trenchers), and fleet vehicles (trucks, trailers).

Required skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and systematic problem-solving.

  • Experience with gasoline and diesel engines and related systems.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding, and diagnostic software.

  • Clear communication with crew leaders


Lawn Care Technician

Duties: perform mowing, trimming, weed control, fertilization, aeration, and overseeding; safely apply pesticides and herbicides as needed.

Skills: working knowledge of grass varieties, soil types, common pests, and proper use and maintenance of landscaping equipment.

Pay: $17.40/hr base; $21.00/hr for candidates with relevant experience.

Hardscape Installer

Duties: Installs non-plant hardscape features such as paver patios, retaining walls, and walkways, ensuring proper grading, drainage, and long-lasting construction.

Skills: Requires masonry and construction experience, the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work, attention to detail, and strong precision in layout and installation.

Pay: $19.50/hour base; $23.00/hour for candidates with relevant experience.

Irrigation Technician

Duties: Install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial sprinkler and irrigation systems, troubleshoot system issues, and perform routine inspections and seasonal start-ups/shutdowns.

Skills: Hands-on experience with piping, controllers, valves, and various sprinkler heads; ability to read simple schematics and diagnose electrical or hydraulic problems. Valid driver's license required; familiarity with local watering regulations and irrigation best practices preferred.

Pay: $20/hr starting; $24/hr or more for candidates with proven experience and certifications.
